Trappist Westvleteren Blond
Description
Served cool, the beer turns a slightly cloudy blond with a dense head and plenty of bubbles. Pleasant, fresh and fruity aroma of citrus and a zest of lime. The taste is nicely balanced with the sweetness of the malt and a firm bitterness originating from the hops. The delicious citrus note provides a delicate and refreshing taste, which results in an excellent dry aftertaste.

This date is printed on the label on the white surface in the form of DD/MM/YY and indicates how long the beer will retain its properties if it is stored in the right conditions. This date is determined by the bottling date plus three years.
This date followed by two letters in the form of AB or YZ is also the batch number.
Trappist Westvleteren Blond is a beer which is fermented for a second time in the bottle to refine its flavour. The older the beer is, the more refined its flavour and the beer will show other features. For the second fermentation in the bottle a small amount of yeast and sugar is added to the beer during bottling. This yeast will always be visually present at the very bottom of the bottle. This yeast base is harmless.
Storage conditions
- Never store the beer in direct sunlight.
- Store bottles upright.
- Recommended storage temperature: 12 – 18 °C.
Serving tips
- Recommended serving temperature: 12 – 16 °C.
- Pour preferably into a chalice-shaped glass.
- Try to pour out the contents of the bottle carefully in one motion and leave the yeast base in the bottle. This yeast base is harmless, but gives the beer a bitter aftertaste end makes it cloudy. You can drink this yeast base separately afterwards if you wish.
