Who can buy Trappist Westvleteren and how?
The Trappist Westvleteren crates can only be purchased by registered users through the webshop on the site www.trappistwestvleteren.be.
There are two types of sales:
- home delivery sale
- sale with pick up at the abbey.
Orders placed for collection at the sales centre at the Abbey are never dispatched.
Only private individuals are admitted to the online store. Companies and VAT taxable persons are not allowed to purchase beer.
No orders can be placed via the contact form.
How do I create an account?
At the top of the webpage, under account you have the link “create account”. First create a profile with your personal information: name, address, date of birth, e-mail address and the number plate of the car with which you will pick up the order. Choose a strong password to secure your account.
When is my account active?
After entering your data, you click on the button "Confirm" at the bottom of the page and you will see the message: " We have received your information. Please validate your registration by clicking on the link in the mail we are sending you now. You must click on the link in this mail to validate your registration. You will not be able to make a purchase until this has happened. If you do not receive this e-mail, also check whether it is not in your "Spam" or "Junk" folder.”
After confirming this link in your mail, your registration is complete. Now you will be able to log in during the opening hours of the web store. Your registration remains valid even after a purchase.
When can I buy Trappist Westvleteren?
Check the calendar when the online store is open.
For sales with collection at the Abbey, choose an opening time that corresponds to pick-up times where you can come and pick up your order. The opening time of the shop and corresponding pick-up times are linked together and are indicated as such. You cannot yet select a pickup time here. This is only possible during ordering. You also cannot choose a pickup time outside the moments that are linked to that sales moment. These opening times and pickup times are regularly updated for the coming weeks.
How does a sales moment go?
During the chosen sales moment, log in with your profile. On the page "Beer sales" you now see the link "Order now". You then enter a waiting room until it is your turn. You must keep that screen open whilst waiting, otherwise you lose your turn.
At the sale with home delivery, only beer is offered for sale.
When selling with pick up at the abbey you can also add other products to your shopping basket. When it's your turn, you can continue to buy beer and have about 10 minutes to complete your order. Take into account the maximum number of crates allowed from the types of Trappist that are currently still available.
For the pickup, choose a date and hour from the still available pick-up moments shown on the calendar. Then you will be directed to the payment platform. On the payment platform you fill in the requested payment card details. When your payment has been successfully processed, you will return to our website and your order is completed.

For the purchase with home delivery, you will receive an email with information about the shipping of your order.
For the purchase with pickup at the abbey we will now send you an email with an overview of your order as well as a unique QR code. It is absolutely necessary that you can present this QR code at the time of collection.
The ordered items will be available for you on the agreed date and hour in the sales centre at the Abbey.
The order cannot be picked up without a valid QR-code!!

Can I pick up a different order?
Upon pickup, a check is also made on the license plate against the license plate registered in your profile. This means that you must pick up your order with that car and that you CANNOT take another order with you, even if you have the QR-Code.
When can I return empty goods?
Upon pickup of your order, you can also return your empty goods and receive a refund for the deposit of these empty goods from a previous order.
Empty goods can also always be returned to the sales centre at the Abbey at any time during the collection times indicated on the calendar of this website. Bring then your customer number so that it can be registered on your account.
